Rachel, a Fuquay-Varina native and graduate of Fuquay-Varina High School where she competed in multiple sports, has been familiar with Back in Action since her days growing up in the area.
Rachel has been an active person her whole life and played basketball, volleyball, and softball – giving her a deep understanding of the demands of a variety of sports and the physical demands on the player.
Rachel first discovered her interest in physical therapy by participating in it herself to rehabilitate her ankle after a surgery she had in high school. Through seeing the benefits of physical therapy firsthand, Rachel decided to make it a goal to be able to help people the same way her previous physical therapist had helped her.
Rachel’s treatment style is evidence based with a focus on manual therapy followed by neuromuscular re-education and strengthening exercises to allow you to feel better and stay healthy. She focuses on patient education, so that you will understand what ‘s happening with your body and why certain treatments help. Her goal is to leave you feeling confident in how to manage your symptoms independently as well as to keep them away.
Rachel also has a few niche treatment areas like vestibular disorders, such as vertigo, and she has training in the McKenzie Method to help reduce radicular pain caused from bulging discs.
