David, a co-owner at Back in Action, earned his degree in physical therapy from UNC Chapel Hill in 2008. Since 2008 David has worked in outpatient orthopedics gaining extensive knowledge in a wide variety of areas which include: orthopedic conditions, spinal conditions, sports injuries, and all kinds of pre- and post-operative rehabilitation. David has always gravitated towards treating the active population due to his background in athletics. He enjoys working with the active population and athletes of all ages from high school, collegiate to the professional ranks. He is also part of a local high school sports medicine team where he assists in injury prevention and rehabilitation of the Apex Friendship football team.
His treatment style is one that combines hands on tools such as joint mobilization and dry needling with a combination of functional activities to reduce pain levels and restore patients’ prior levels of function. Education to empower the patient with knowledge about their diagnosis is also of utmost importance to him.
When he is not in the clinic, you will find David enjoying water sports, the outdoors, exercising, and playing sports along with his children. He also enjoys firing the smoker grill up!
